What is it?
Simplifeye is bringing smart watches and Amazon’s Alexa’s into the dentist’s office. By looking down at their smartwatch, dentists can keep track of who their next patient is, any allergies or medical concerns he or she has, read notes from the last appointment, and even look at an x-ray image.
Using voice-activated Alexa, this same information can be requested by simply asking for it. During a dental exam, the dentist can ask Alexa a question about X-ray notes without ever removing gloves or leaving the patient. As a result, the dentist’s preparation time between each appointment is reduced and more patients can be seen quickly and safely.
Why is it innovative?
Simplifeye offers a tool kit of software products ( Amplify, DEXvoice, and Flow). The software interface Simplifeye has created is HIPAA-compliant, user-friendly and equipped with cool features such as a a silent vibration notification when the next patient checks in at the front desk. By arming dentists and their support staff with these savvy tools, they can provide better care for patients. Patients also have the added convenience of 24/7 live chat options on your practice’s website staffed by Smile Specialists at Simplifeye.
The Market
Simplifeye’s founder, orthodontist Ryan Hungate, DDS, MS, previously worked for Apple where he designed the workflow chain used in Apple’s 500 retail stores so he understands exactly how to maximize productivity in a busy setting (Simplifeye). With the wearable technologies market set to soar to over $150 billion by 2027 (HealthcareITLeaders), society is primed to expect smartwatches in the doctor’s office.
Mission
“Simplifeye empowers doctors by automating the business side of their practice. We do this by providing software solutions that digitize and improve existing processes that are core to many medical practices. Simply put, Simplifeye allows medical professionals to focus their efforts on providing high quality health care, resulting in great experiences for patients” (Simplifeye).
